I generally frequent two forums, here(Vbulletin) and Neowin.net(IPB) as person has set up and maintained websites in the past I have installed and administered both IPB and Vbulletin. So I am familier with both systems.

I just want to say that I commend the Ubuntu forums for choosing Vbulletin, from a users perspective, Vbulletin in my opinion has much more to offer. In particular I like the way you can hover over a post title and get a preview of what that post contains it's quite a convenient feature. Also I find the editor much easer to use. As well I think the search function works a bit better on Vbulletin. I think the ability to add tags has a lot to do that.

Anyway just some random thoughts ;)

Keep up the good work you guys!

Really?!

The search in vB is shocking ;) I know it's under development for a future version though (vBulletin 4 I believe)

I agree that sometimes the search leaves something to be desired. I'm looking forward to updates....

lol I didn't say search was perfect but it's definitely improved over IPB's The results are slightly more relevant, then the ones IPB returns imho.
