Well, I just got an Xbox 360 today; and I was wondering if it were possible to use my laptop as a wireless receiver rather than going and buying an ethernet cable?

I saw this guide, and it's worked for a couple of friends. So I was curious if the same thing could be done in Ubuntu.

The first step of that requires an ethernet cable, so you'll need one anyways.

You mean rather than going out and buying a wireless adapter?

I mean a long ethernet cable that goes across the house. The Xbox 360 comes with a short one.

And yes, so I dont have to buy a wireless adapter.

I've tested this with my Windows 7 partition and it works flawlessly with a great connection. So I don't see why it technically wouldn't be do-able in Ubuntu.
