Hey there,

I just installed Ubuntu 8.10 using VirtualBox 2.2.0. I've installed Vbox Additions. And Ubuntu still gives me only two resolutions: 640*480 & 800*600 only

I'm using HP TabletPC tx2000, which supports up to 1280*800!

I've tried the following with no luck:

installed nvidia settings
Installed Envy

My xorg content is as follows:

# nvidia-xconfig: X configuration file generated by nvidia-xconfig
# nvidia-xconfig: version 1.0 (buildd@palmer) Thu Jun 26 06:22:40 UTC 2008

With Vbox addons your resolutions should be dynamic. Have you tried maximizing the window?

Yes I've. That didn't work, I'm still stuck with 800*600

I'm having similar issues. where did you get the nvidia.config?

If you look in the help file for Virtualbox under the bit for the guest drivers, it tells you what you need to alter in your x.conf file to add support for different screen resolutions.
