Dell Inspirion MIni 9

I have a continuing problem:
1. I bought a mini 9 Dell Inspirion with 4gb HD-tool small
2. I bought an 400gb external HD
3. I use mini for web surfing and getting e-mails with Evolution. When I delete e-mails and put them into trash after several days I get a error message "root partition full" and the computer becomes inoperative.
4. My web browser icon is missing from the category panel uipon sign on and is now in the home directory.

I can only answer the trash problem:(.

Click on the Ubuntu icon in the upper right of your screen & switch desktop mode to classic. You will now see a little trash can icon in the lower right of your screen. Right click on it & empty it.

Don't forget to switch your desktop back to the Dell Desktop if you want. I am sure there is a way to do this from the Dell Desktop - I just haven't found it yet.
