Hey all, I just wanted to get some opinions on a new theme I created. I think it looks really good with the "Gartoon Redux" icon set.
I need some honest feedback here because I wanna make sure this theme is rock solid before I label it "v1.0".

Not a bad theme, though there is a slight line between the title bar and the rest of the window. There are also a number of white spots on the corners on some of the boxes.

Done! Some people just ignores how is difficult to create, thats why they don't respect the others work. Just don't mind and and go ahead. And thank you for sharing your work with us. :D

Perhaps they put bad because they don't like it? I respect that you put work into it, but I personally don't like it. I didn't bother to vote bad on it though.:)

Overall I didn't like it.
But it is good for what it is, I just do not like cartoon like themes (thick black boarder lines). It is too monotone (making it look shiny or having more than just plain gray colour.. perhaps more variety).
It surely deserves the rating it gets (it's not bad if it is above 50%). The rating tells me that some people really like it but a little bit bigger crowd does not.

well i've decided not to ever try creating something original for a while now... my self-esteem can't take it anymore.
my next theme will be a vista+ OSX cross. that way, it will score high on gnome-look.org and people will say good things about it.

Really like! I think "cartoon themes" are just a bit specialised for some people though.

Don't be sad, create what you like. Van Gog didn't sell even one of his paintings when he was alive, his brother bought the paintings from him just because caring of his feelings. But now his paintings are the most appreciated and expensive, just to show you that popularity does not always means a good quality. Look gnu/linux system is used from less than one percent of computer users, but can you say that it is a failure? :D

Personally, I find it epic. I think you're doing a great job. Keep up the good work, and maybe animate the loading bar (I don't know why, but I love any loading bar that's animated). This theme is really, really freaking awesome, a radical departure from what a lot of people have done, and so you're not gonna get great reviews from everyone. Just letting you know, I love it.
Also, just letting you know, I registered at Gnome-look to rate your theme highly.

Please do not fall in that trap of try to copy a crappy theme only because it is widespread. Vista and mac osx has the least good looking theme since... stone age.
Just keep working on your current theme and give it more shininess.
When you got to next release say it will be the last one before it becomes version 1.0 and before you release 1.0 make wallpaper, login screen, bootloader and spashscreen (while ubuntu is loading up). That will make it a wholesome theme.
I would be thrilled getting above 30% on my first theme when I'll make it. And you will have to realize that we judge you as a professional artist but as if you where our son.

This is the kind of theme I have been looking for...
Thank you for making it :D.
Edit: one problem I do notice though, if your panel is larger then 25 it redos the panel. Unlike alot of themes this one doesn't have a theme for larger panel sizes.

I was just kidding about the Vista + OSX cross... I was just being annoyed by everybody on gnome-look. you gotta admit, some of the crappiest themes have some high ratings and its freekin bizarre!
good idea about making the theme complete for v1.0. I'll do that for sure!

actually I have two more themes but they are almost the same.
One is called "Killbang Wow!": http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/KillBang+Wow!?content=92692
The other is called "Killbang Kazow!": http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/KillBang+Kazow!?content=92919
I will admit, they aren't completely original. The artwork might be unique but I used these themes to kind of teach myself how to make GTK themes.

One of the things I'll be fixing for the v1.0 release is the panel problem. Don't worry!

I think it's good. Your theme is consistent and clear with some nice transparencies here and there.
If you are making them just for other people, then you should study what is popular and why. Yes, you could go for crossing two themes, but try to go with the approach of remixing a popular idea. The 8.10 standard theme 'Dark Room' I found to be awesome, personally.

naw... i was kidding about the whole vista+OSX thing... those are two ugly GUIs if you ask me.
I'm usually not into copying anybody... even with my music, i don't like to play other peoples' music. I'd rather write music. the same thing applies here.
