Ok, i design a few websites for spare cash and manage a few of my own and i was wondering if anyone knew if there was a good designer out there for linux that compares to Dreamweaver. I've used Dreamwever for a while and it's only available for Windows and Mac, so is there anything or should i try it on wine?
Oh and sorry if im in the wrong forum, i just thought Design, please dont hate me if im in the wrong spot cuz im still getting used to ubuntu :)

Aptana Studio seems very worthwhile if you have the money for it. I can't vouch for it personally though, since I've never used it.

I generally have lately switched to working with CMSes like Joomla, as mentioned above, and gedit.

I'm another who suggests Bluefish, been using it for a month or so myself now and works well. There's another one available in Synaptic called Screem, I tried it and found it pretty good, although it's got a few bugs and crashed on me several times so I gave it the flick and went with Bluefish

Some people have suggested Joomla. If you are interested in a content management system you could possibly try Drupal as an alternative.

Drupal is fine if you like working with php and fixing stuff.
Joomla is more user friendly, but, does not have a native usable forum extension yet.
Joomla has a better template selection and after a little practice you can throw together a decent website in no time at all.

You do realize Aptana Studio is free, right?

Try NVU it's a WYSIG editor, the most similar to dreamwaver I've seen so far.

Oh my god, someone still uses dreamweaver, that piece of Cr@p! Haha, sorry my post wasn't very constructive, I just hated that application with a passion.
