Ubuntu Online services ?

Hi,

I have heard that Canonical is working on a brand new suite of online services for ubutun users. Somethings tells me that this has something to do with the weblication Shuttleworth was refering to when introducing 9.04.

I have seen this job offer (http://webapps.ubuntu.com/employment/canonical_GDOS/) for a GNOME developer on the Canonical website
Can anyone tell me what's going on here and what we should be expecting ?

Canonical helping Gnome, i think is right...
KDE is fine, but DONT like me, too big desktop, i want something minimalistic
