Hi
New to Linux, but have converted all my family to Ubuntu. I had a Lite-On LDW-411-SX USB 2.0 DVD/CD RW drive and was trying to use Acid Rip to rip my DVDs to a hard drive. When I put a DVD in the drive Mplayer started it just like I am use to.
Acid Rip would not see the DVD drive, so I started looking at things. I found the drive under computer in places and opened it there, I went to properties page and change the the open with to /dev/dvd which was what Acid Rip was looking for.
The drive can not be mounted now, the error says can not read device. I can save all my data and reload Ubuntu if needed but was hoping that I just needed to rewrite a file.
The device is listed as Oecd a100, and I have a Dell mini running 8.04.
Thanks
