Try posting in here http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=123 , have you received your confirmation code yet? If not post there and an admin should be able to help you activate your account.

Have you activated your account? Are you attempting to post a message in an archived subforum?

Congrats: I see your post count is about to exceed the 10,000 mark.

lol, at first I thought you were talking to coldReactive and did not understand. Thanks though, just means I'm talking much ;)

Well, I see you posted a reply to a cafe thread, and a new thread here :)
As lisati said, make sure you are not trying to reply in the archive section of the forums (archive is closed for posting).

But it says I may post replies in the permissions box when I view other people's threads.

Well, thanks, but you know, it does not mean much. Some members with a low post count are able to code circles around me.. :)

+1: some people with lower post counts than me are able to give replies to support requests that are more concise, more accurate and more helpful. This is why I have chosen to hide my bean count.

+1. The 10,000 mark is (in my book) a testament to your dedication, perseverance and patience in supporting Ubuntu, the forum and us members .... as well as your skills. For that, you deserve a congratulations =D>
Like Lisati said above, I also choose to hide my beans for the same reasons.

Eheh, thanks again. This is true, I spend much of my free time giving back to Ubuntu on the forums. I enjoy the forums, this is my favorite communication media (I do not like IRC much, I'm subscribed to several mailing lists, but for infos only, I rarely contribute there) and I'm a Linux self taught. This means I can help with problems I have encountered, or problems documented on the internets. I have learned to search google and the Ubuntu resources, which many people should be able to do. A lot of what I know I have learned helping people around.
The moderation of the forums takes a lot of the time I give to Ubuntu and I do not help much any longer. I like working in the Staff team, we have a great team :)
Moderating forums needs different skills, not only raw basic Ubuntu knowledge but human skills too. I also have learned a lot here since I was a mod, and this is a two ways process. Real life feeds the forums work, forums work feeds real life. I enjoy this balance.
I sometimes get frustrated because I do not give support as I used to. I have less free time than a couple years ago, so be it :)
Same as lisati for the bean count. Bean count is a little vain to me, and I've always supported its removal. It would bring havoc to the forums.. so I let it go. You can still find the bean count on the user profile, but better hide than nothing.
