I'm thinking of trying out Linux Mint, but I don't want to have to dig out my Ethernet cable in order to get Internet access I want to be able to install wireless drivers without downloading anything. (My card is a Broadcom STA, standard issue with the MacBook3,1.) Do I only need to stick /lib/modules/2.6.24-23-generic/kernel/drivers/net/phy/broadcom.ko in its equivalent place in Mint and have everything "just work", or is additional setup required?

Linux Mint has the same, or more drivers than a default Ubuntu kernel. The last time I installed it everything on my HP laptop worked out of the box.

Thank you, but that doesn't answer my question...
