Hello everyone.
I am getting ready to become a System76er and have narrowed down my choices to the Pangolin Performance or the Serval Professional. One of the factors important for me is battery life and I was wondering, is it possible to buy a 9 cell battery for the Pangolin Performance and/or the Serval Professional?
It wasn't clear to me from the accessories page whether or not the batteries were compatible as they had different names like: Serval Performance and Pangolin Value.
Thanks in advance!

There are no nine-cells available for the Pangolin, only six cells. There are also no other battery options available for the Serval.

Thanks Thomas for the quick reply.
Can you (or anyone else for that matter) speak to the performance of either of these models in terms of battery life? Roughly how many hours can you get out of the Pangolin Performance vs the Serval Professional?

The Serval gets around an hour of battery life. It has a pretty high-performance graphics card.
We've had reports of up to 2 hours on the Pangolin, with a number of power-conserving steps being taken. 1.5 is probably average.

Pangolin is 1.5-2 hours.

I am on the lower side with about an hour with my pangolin.
I knew it going in but it is still the pangolin's achilles heel. I hate the batter life and would look at going down to the darter or gazelle if I had the choice over.
Dedicated graphics on any laptop with a 15" or better will not equate to much for battery life.

Ok I promise that this will be my last question (on this matter anyways). :)
I am rethinking things a bit, in terms of a laptop, and I may opt for a gazelle instead (perhaps purchasing a desktop further down the road if I need any sort of intensive graphics). Roughly how long would a gazelle, upgraded to the 8 cell battery, last?
Many thanks to everyone that has helped out so far. I am new to the laptop world and your thoughts have been very helpful.

You can't actually *upgrade* the Gazelle to the 8-cell. You have to buy an extra battery (i.e. the 8-cell).
4-cell -- approx. 2 hrs
8-cell -- approx. 4hrs
Again depending on usage. The above steps will help as well.
