Gurus,
I am using Ubuntu Gusty Gibbon with Gnome desktop.
In that setup I would like to reduce the size of the top window border to gain more real-estate on the desktop. Is there a way to
achieve it?

Thanks.

I think that's controlled by your theme. Go to http://gnome-look.org/ and look for some minimalistic themes.

Do you mean the top panel, where the menu bar sits? If so just add everything that is on that in your current setup to the bottom panel and then delete the top one. To save space at the bottom just use the gnome main menu if you prefer, like the attachment.

However if you really mean the window borders, then you will need to play around with your theme details and customise that for a narrow window border, but I suspect that is not what you want.
