Hello all! I've been diving in and out of Ubuntu for the past few years now. I think I'm finally ready to make the switch. I made the switch to Mac about 4 years ago and I currently have a unibody macbook. I love the thing, but A: Ubuntu gives me horrible battery life on it and B: I want to support a company that supports the open source community. This brings me to System 76. I've seen nothing but great reviews and I am currently looking at the Gazelle ultra. Although the graphics card isn't as good, it has everything else I am looking for. I'm looking for your opinion on what I should do. I am into gaming a bit, but that's something I'm trying to get out of as I am getting married in about 2 months and will be starting grad school. Gaming will have to go. I am also a photographer, but I have used the Gimp on an old Dell and know that all that is needed is processing power. The Gazelle should hold up fine on that end. So what should I do? Stick with the macbook or sell it for around 1300 and get a Gazelle? I'm really itching to make the switch, but I'm having trouble convincing my entire self of that...Let me know your thoughts and if you actually own a Gazelle Ultra, let me know what you think of it (battery life, speed, compatability, etc...)
Thanks!
Trent
