While playing Counterstrike, the game will un-expectadly pause for a few moments (7-10 seconds)... Does this happen to others? my command to run steam is: WINEDEBUG="-all" wine Steam.exe -applaunch 10 -heapsize 510000
Perhaps just a hicup with WINE? I'm not complaining by any means, this is the first time ive ever got wine running correctly.. just wondering if anyone has had this problem as well.

yeah, i get exactly the same problem, finally got wine and steam running crash free and the only issue left to resolve is this one, freezing every so often during game play.
i'm trying to solve it now so i'll let u know how it goes

I've got the same problem too. Using Wine 0.9.1(Had to, Word of Warcraft :( ).
I hope someone can come up with a solution to this :)

Im running steam version 0.9.3.. Freezes 26 seconds on average.. Depending on my CPU load, sometimes the pauses only will last 5-10 seconds but are more frequent.

I know its kind of against topic to maybe post this but Cedega worked really hard to get steam working and they did a pretty good job. I mean I know its against all things free in the linux world but they are doing a lot of work and for $5 a month its worth looking into. I know I was playing CS:S and Half-Life 2 Deathmatch on it. It was really nice having the lowest lag in the server. And that was with an ati card. Nvidia is much much better and far more supported on cedega. But just thought I would throw it out there. I know wine is free but its not the best for what you're trying to do. Though if you do get it to work I'll expect a how-to pronto so we can all enjoy

yeah, but my tuition bill came for a grand total of 6,000 roughly, so...Paying for games is few and far between right now :P
