Hi,
Does anyone know when System76 Laptops will be shipping with Ubuntu 9.04? It's supposed to be released next week, so just curious.
Thanks,
Sam Alex

As soon as it is released by Canonical.
By the way, I like your TRS-80 thingy. I started with the Timex Sinclair 2000.

Hi Thomas,
As soon as it is released by Canonical.
Awesome! I hoped to order a Pangolin Performance by now, but we had some last minute expenses come up that's delayed the purchase. But Ubuntu 9.04 should be out by the time I'm able to order one so groovy on that.
By the way, I like your TRS-80 thingy. I started with the Timex Sinclair 2000.
Nice... I never had a chance to use a Sinclair but I had friends who loved'em. My first system was the good ol' Trash-80, Color Computer 2 specifically, which I got around 1987. I still have it along with the CoCo 3 I got in 1989, and both still work great though I haven't turned either on in a while.
Over the years I've collected a treasure trove of 'classic' computers, but unfortunately I don't have the time or space to tinker with them anymore. Too bad they won't run Linux :)
Take care --
Sam Alex

Wow! Its pretty rare to meet a "fellow" TRS user. My first laptop was a TRS Model 100 with a 32 K (that's Kilobytes) of RAM, an 8 line by 40 column display and a blisteringly fast 300 Baud (that would be 0.3K) modem.
Back to your original post. Waiting until 9.04 ships makes a lot of sense. Rumor has it that it will be a bit faster than 8.10.
