Tremulous Black Screen

Hi Gamers!

I was reading about video games on Linux, and as much as I'd love to see some, apparently...I can't! I think it's an OpenGL problem, but I'm not sure, attempting to run Tremulous, gives me a black screen, with a slightly different shade of black box, when I hit escape, I can't see...anything?

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I'd really love to play this game, or any game like it really...Any help would be appreciated!

Try turning desktop effects off (System > Preferences > Appearance > Visual Effects, then select None)? Compiz is a bitch when it comes to OpenGL/SDL.
Failing that, run the game in a terminal and post the output.

That did the trick, Thanks! Is there any way I can keep my "effects" on while playing this game or should I just disable them each time before?

You can't keep effects turned on while playing, sorry. Compositing WMs play hell with 3D games.
