Hi guys! I just had a rather odd question, System76 seems to be the most successful seller of computers with pre-installed Ubuntu. I just finished watching a video on ZDNet of prototypes for Freescale's and Qualcomm's Arm based netbooks (although I am mostly excited for Pegatron's Freescale netbook), and they were talking about price points of $199 to $299, and to start selling them between June and August. I've already started saving.
What I am worried about, is it seems these companies are based in Thailand, and with mixed feelings of the success on Linux on netbooks, I'm worried they won't be carried in the US. Is System76 planning anything for netbooks, or for that matter (on a larger scale), are there going to be any sold and easily accessible in the US?

System76 is planning on releasing a netbook. It's been more difficult than anticipated, but it looks like it will materialize. Probably in about three or four weeks, barring the unforseen.

Any teasers Thomas? It's not a Z series Atom processor is it?

Yeah, Z series would be great for lower power use and dual core. Too bad Intel hasn't quite worked out the GMA 500 drivers since that would make an awesome netbook with 1080p video decoding and long battery life.

Unfortunately, I have no specs available for it yet.

These are the first netbooks that seem really interesting :-) Finally I'll get to buy a computer thats non-x86 :)
Also the most important thing in a netbook is battery life, so this seems just great :)
Also ubuntu are adding arm support for these netbooks :)

Hi, I'm definitely looking forward to it :-) Like I said, I already have money going to the side saved specifically for an Ubuntu netbook.
I know you said you guys don't have any specs on it or not, but do you happen to know if it will be x86 or ARM?

Well I'll be keeping an eye out for it, just in case I get lucky and there's something ARM coming out :-) Is there a way to sign up for notification, or just watch the website?

There are not. Not sure when/if there will be. I've passed your post to R&D to add to their tally.
