I am reinstalling Ubuntu. Which is better 8.04 or 8.10?

Which is faster?
Any compatibility issues?

( was only able to find one comment saying that 8.10 is slower)

I have read that 8.10 offers G3 access, a quick "guest" user and a flash-memory bootable key. (I don't care for any of this). I want speed!!

I gave up on 8.10, never suspended (Toshiba Laptop), bluetooth issues, eventually just froze at bootup and could not be recovered. So installed 8.04 and have had no problems since then. Speed looks about the same but 8.04 is seems more stable. I can't see any real improvements/advantages in 8.10.

I highly doubt that you'll find any significant difference in speed between the two.

Go for the gusto and install 9.04 (it's beta, I know).
