hello,

i have a dell demention 2400 desktop and i just recently installed ubuntu 8.10 . i had trouble with the screen resolution but now it works fine. the only driver my computer was able to detect was the wireless internet driver. and thats it.

at first i thought that it enabled itself automatically but when i installed AWD or KIBA DOCK i knew it was a graphical problem because neither of them showed up on my desktop. also when i try to enable normal visual effects in system preffrences and it says looking for any available drivers. was unable to enable drivers

any suggestions on what to do?

Hi there i have the same problem except with a different type of graphics chip and pc but one thing ive been told to do is check to see if you have a restricted driver to do this System-administration-hardware drivers, this will check to see if you have a restricted driver for your graphics card however this dose not work with mine but good luck ;)
