so i may be a little late on realizing this, but what happed to the thank you button?

when i first started helping people on the forums there was a thanks button at the bottom of every post

when you helped someone, they could click the thank you button and you would get another point in the thanks counter under your name

i was very proud of the thanks counter under my username

now today for the first time in a long time i looked down and realized the thanks counter is gone!

what happened?

why get rid of the thanks counter?

that was like the best part about helping people on theese forums

Because the UF servers are overloaded, and in an effort to stem the tide of crashes and instability numerous features were cut-i.e. Thanks, OOST, etc.

The thanks button was pretty cool. It was like a handshake after a good deed. :lolflag:

Moved to FFH.

It was removed several months ago. The plugins were accessing the database not in a clean way, and created database corruptions.

UF servers are overloaded...crashes and instability...

They should run linux on their servers.

Sometimes I miss the "thanks" button - it's a useful way of providing and monitoring feedback. I did notice, however, that every so often, that the feature was bordering on being misused. Some threads got a little silly, with people thanking each other for the sake of it (guilty as charged), or thanking everyone who replied.

Do you really think they would run anything else (http://toolbar.netcraft.com/site_report?url=http%3A%2F%2Fubuntuforums.org%2F)? :p
