Hi,

I am runnings Ubuntu 9.04 64 bit.

I can use the wifi anywhere in my house using linux. How ever I can only connect downstairs.
Because my university only provides windows programs ( which don't work in wine yet) I am dual booting.
Vista (I hate it) will connect anywhere.

How can I get Ubuntu to connect anywhere?

I have tried to use ndiswrapper but not managed to get the drivers working. A google couldn't find anyone else who could. If you can please let me know.

Thanks very much in advance.

Is there a difference in the encryption of the networks? do they both use the same?

Sorry bad wording of the question it is the same network that covers the house. The correct encryption is used (WPA & WPA2 Personal). With Ubuntu I can sit downstairs and connect to the wifi but cannot connect when upstairs.
