I'm on an i386 computer so when I went to the download page I was given "ubuntu-8.10-desktop-i386.iso" but I don't want Ubuntu for this computer just yet. I want to try on my other computer, which currently doesn't have an OS because I wiped it so I can't use the website's auto-detect system. I need to find the build that is not for i386 chipset (dual AMD Opteron system to be exact). Where do I go to pick other downloads besides the one recommended for the system I'm currently on? Thanks.

Is the Opteron processor a 64 bit? If so, they have the amd64 iso that will work for both the Intel and AMD 64 bit processors.

Oops, I was thinking of my other old computer. The one I actually want to install Ubuntu on is a Clevo D750T 15.4" WIdescreen Laptop with an Intel Pentium 4 630 3.0G 2 meg cache

I'm hoping for a link to the file or web page that will let me get Ubuntu for this chipset. Thanks.

Not sure if that processor is a 64 bit or not.. but the i386 iso should work just fine on it. The i386 iso should work for most all computers, including 64 bit ones, you just dont get the advantage of 64 bit processing.

If you're looking for 64-bit Ubuntu, go to http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download and at the bottom of the page tick the selection in front of 64bit version.

I actually want 32 bit. I'm thinking my question is confusing because it is too easy to answer. As in, the answer is: "The version I downloaded is for all 32-bit computers and I was incorrect in thinking there were different versions for different chipsets."
