Using external media for library

Im using Songbird on Ubuntu 8.10. i want to set my library folder to an external network HDD but im not sure how to do it. when choosing to add new media it doesnt list network places.

Can anyone tell me if its possible or if there is another media player that will do this

I couldn't get this working in Songbird but it does work in Rhythmbox so i guess ill stick to that
