View Full Version : [ubuntu] 8.04 won't accept DNS for modem hookup

I have switched from 8.10 to 8.04 and now the help section seems to be working for setting up a modem connection, with one exception. When I type midcoast.com into the DNS box, it is not accepted. A few letters will work and all digits for a maximum of 4. What am I doing wrong?

I believe the dns box only excepts ipv4 addresses, ie: 123.456.789.012.

I did an ip lookup for you and midcoast.com resolves to 69.39.100.30 so insert that into your dns box to see if that works.

That is what it was looking for! I'm surprised that my ISP didn't suggest that when I called. Many thanks.
