Grafic Errors on Dell XPS M1530 with GeForce 8600 M GT

Hi there,
This is my first post so I want to say hello to you all.

I'm using an Dell XPS M1530 with an Nvidia GeForce 8600 M GT and the 180.11 driver in the packet nvidia-glx-180 and some time after booting up I often get this grafic errors:

They appear with Compiz effects enabled but also when I use a "normal" window manager like Metacity.
Sometimes it gets worser and the system crashes.
Under Windows I don't get such errors so it might be a driver specific error.
Has anyone of you made experiences with such grafic errors too?

the 180.44 driver is the latest official release and 185.19 is the latest beta. could you upgrade to 180.44?
