besides that spore runs in wine and we're on gaming forum?

In all reality, last I checked (still in beta) Spore didn't play nice with wine. If it does, that's great.

However, that being the case, this should be in the wine subforum. I've seen the mods move wine gaming threads out of herem into there on several occasions.

it's not necessarily a wine thread. it's just a thread about a game that runs on linux (whether it works with wine or not)

it's also in the "supported games" list of cedega and that list only has ~40 games since cedega came out. so I'm guessing it works nearly perfect.

I've tried to play the Spore demo with Cedega and with Wine and can't get it to work with either. Cedega says that my 3-d video is not working, but I can get Compiz to work perfectly. Also, I've been able to play many other Windows games with Wine (i.e. Age of Mythology, Myst, Age of Empires 2, Hoyle Card, and Starcraft). I would love to play Spore, too. Any suggestions?
