Just out of curiosity, how's the game running for everyone? I'll go first.

Dual Core 2.8gHz
2GB DDR2 Ram
512mb nvidia 7300GS
OpenGL
1440x900 resolution
All effects set to low

And I'm getting an average of about 15fps. Playable, but not good by any stretch of the imagination. Goes from 30 in a small room to about 7 or 8 in Dalaran. I'm about to go buy 4 more gigs of ram and a 9500GT card so we'll see how much that makes it improve.

I'm using a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ250AE, Ubuntu 8.10, Wine 1.1.18, WoW 3.0.9.

That laptop has a nVidia 8400M GT, 2 GB RAM, Dual Core 2.4GHz, all effects set to low. I'm using 1280x800 resolution.

No matter where I am, how many players are there, how wide or narrow is the place or whatever, I never experienced any low framerate that could be noticed by naked eye (and that is what matters, right). The game always runs smooth. And not only that, my ping is lower than on Windows. We, Linux users, don't have to use anti-virus and dumb firewalls and stuff. :D

Athlon x2 64 6000
3gb ram
Geforce 8800GTS oc
1154*864 windowed

I get anything from 45fps in heavily populated area's such as Ogrimmar Auction house to 200fps out in the wilderness.

on my macbook it stays constantly around the 45-50fps mark.
basic white Macbook with Nvidia 9400 chipset.

2.4Ghz Intel Duel Core, Nvidia 8600GT

1400x900

I got somewhere along the lines of 25-30FPS in crowded areas. Still looking at getting an 8800 to nudge that up a bit though.

Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 2.2Ghz
Nvidia 9600GT 512Mb, 185.19 drivers
4Gb DDR2-800
Ubuntu 8.10, Wine 1.1.18
1920x1200 4x multisampling windowed-maximized

video effects -> http://juho.teperi.net/temp/wow/Screenshots/WoWScrnShot_040709_200648.jpg

10-15fps in Dalaran
5-15fps in Naxxramas 25, Malygos 25, Obsidian Sanctum 25, Wintergrasp
15-30fps in Naxxramas 10, Malygos 10, Obsidian Sanctum 10, Battlegrounds
30fps on IF mailbox
30-70fps in 5man dungeons and in combat
50-120fps when doing nothing

Changing video effects has very little or no effects at all on fps.
I'm thinking that new processor might help a lot, especially in 25 raids, whick are pretty unplayable at this moment.
If somebody has experience about how changing from 2.2Ghz dual core to 2.83Ghz quad core (Q9550) affects fps, i would be happy to hear.

So I upgraded to 4gb of ram and a 1GB 9500 GT, but my fps really hasn't improved a whole bunch. I'm getting 5-10 fps in Dalaran, 15-30fps everywhere else. What gives?

Basically the same problem I have which is why I still dual boot.
Q6600
4gigs of ram
8500GT
1680x1050 with settings as low as I can

Under Win7 I get 60fps(capped through console command) no lower than 40 in raids usually. In 8.10 im lucky I get anything above 30, its usually 15 to 25.

That is one of the things I love most about Linux is that we dont have to use resource hogs like MacAffee to protect our computer. It is also a waste of money.:)
