is there a way to limit time spent on certain websites like myspace, facebook, ect.?

You might be able to do something like that using the squid proxy server but you would have to make sure all the browsers are connecting via squid. I am pretty sure you can limit connections by time of day, bandwidth and a number of other things but you would have to read through the squid manual to see if you can do it by accumulated time on a particular site.
