Alright here's my problem.

I used to dual boot between windows xp and ubuntu 8.04 installed using wubi. This partition currently takes up all but around 500mb of my hard drive (the 8.04 ubuntu and windows xp). A few months ago ubuntu wouldn't run, just boot into a command prompt like list of options (Ill edit it later when I write down what it says).

I downloaded the new 8.10 ubuntu and burned the iso to a cd. I am able to run ubuntu by choosing the option of running it without changing anything on the computer (it deletes everything if you shut down). So upon discovering this I tryed to delete my wubi partition of the broken 8.04 to make space for the installation of 8.10 . Unfortunately the "ubuntu" doesn't not show under "add/remove programs" in windows xp.

If I tried installing 8.10 from the cd would it overwrite the virtual partition of the broken 8.04 ubuntu installed with wubi?

Or is there anyway I can just manually delete the files and remove the broken 8.04 ubuntu.

Remember I don't have space to install 8.10, and that's why I need to get rid of the broken 8.04 wubi installed ubuntu.

Thanks.
