I just sent my order in for the Pangolin Performance and am looking forward to returning to Linux from several years in OS X-land!
I would like to know what the largest and/or highest resolution external monitor I could buy for it. It comes with an HDMI port and has the "nVidia GeForce 9300M GS 256MB DDR2" (<--direct quote) video card, and I also got the upgrade to the WSXGA+ display at 1680 X 1050 for its own screen resolution. Any help deciding would be appreciated. I specifically want to know if it's possible to get an external with a higher resolution (i.e. 1920 X 1200.) Thanks in advance.

Through the VGA output, I *think* you can get up to 2048 x 1536.
Through the HDMI output, I *think* you can get up to 2560 x 1600.
I'll have to double-check, though, on Monday. But you should have no problem with 1920 X 1200.

Thank you. You're the same person that replied so quickly to my purchase questions; you must not take days off over there!

I guess Tom already responded, but I just wanted to add that I haven't had any problems connecting my Pangolin to my 1920 * 1200 monitor via HDMI.

Thomas,
were you able to confirm the max external monitor resolution? 2560x1600 is for me a must on a laptop. I hope I don't have to buy MacBook Pro the only one I have found that can do that so far.

The specs I mentioned above are from the graphics card specs, so they are a pretty safe bet, as we install the proprietary binaries for nVidia cards.
However, I have no way of verifying, as I don't have a monitor that big in my lab.
We do have a 30-day limited money back guarantee, though. See...

Thomas,
could you confirm then that the DVI in Serval and Bonobo is a Dual-DVI? Have you tested any external monitor with higher resolution than the native laptop screen resolution?

Just to clarify...
You mean Dual-Link DVI, right? (i.e. the ability to put a splitter on it?)
As opposed to two DVI ports. I assume this is the case, as it only has one DVI port.
The specs do not say it is dual-link, but I've sent out a request for more information on it.

yes, I meant Dual Link DVI. Monitors with high resolution need this type of connector.
