View Full Version : [kubuntu] Can I un-do KDE 4.2.2 update, and go back to 4.2.1?

With KDE 4.2.2, window resizing is painfully slow again. This problem was resolved for me in 4.2.1 (or whatever the previous release was.)
Can I somehow roll-back all the updates that I did this morning? Or is it too late?
I thought my window resizing nightmare was over, but now it's happening again ;)

I would imagine you can, but not through the repos. Maybe like this (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=348643) but use 'hardy' instead of 'edgy.' The thread was never marked solved, however, so be careful and take it with a grain of salt.
Worse comes to worse, you could try and find the packages online and install them yourself. That will take some effort, but it would get you back to the old version. Just be sure you know what you need and how to install it before hand.

I ended up removing several kde packages, and it auto-removed a whole bunch more..> It took a lot of cleaning up, and then I did apt-get install kde, and it took me back to 4.2.2.0 -- however, resizing windows is still slow again....:lolflag:
I don't know what else has changed since things were working well :(
