anyway, my question is with impulse, the updater. the updater requires my serial key to play.

how many times can i use my serial key on different installs before i have to buy a new copy of sins? thanks in advance

Last I looked Sins of a Solar Empire let you use it however many times you wanted. I may be mistaken but I'm pretty sure they were very unusual with not tossing heavy DRM on their product.

And you don't even need the CD Key to install the game. Just to download updates for it.

The very first result is a news article regarding the DRM and the CD key usage. If you'd actually google it you'd really find you get answers a heck of alot faster. If you'd actually research something or even 'try', You wouldn't be mocked.

Also, posting the FULL question is pretty helpful. Since I gave you the answer you'd need just to install the game. Impulse appears to be a Steam-style downloader. How do I know? I googled it. I imagine it "registers" CD Keys to accounts so you only have to input them once to use them whenever.

And regardless, I've given you the best answer there is. If you want a better one, I suggest you go over to the impulse (http://forums.impulsedriven.com/) forums.
