View Full Version : [ubuntu] USPLASH Nightmares

I have been trying desperately to change my Ubuntu Usplash screen. I have downloaded several from gnome-look.org and followed each of their instructions. Every time I install a usplash theme it shows up in my start-up manager but no matter what resolution I set it to I always get verbose boot and if I try and test usplash by typing usplash -c in terminal I get an error that says no suitable theme can be found for this resolution. I get this error regardless of which resolution I try. The default Ubuntu splash is the only one that works, and it works with any resolution. Intrepid 8.10 AMD64. Help Please!!!!!! For reference I have been trying specifically with the theme located here http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/MacX+Usplash+Theme?content=73611 .

i have heard that there is a problem with the AMD drivers, try looking for AMD specific splashes.
