Unable to install UT2004

hi, i need help installing ut2k4

i have never had this problem before, i just installed breezy and its the first time i've done it in ubuntu... never had the problem in any other dist...

error is...

UZ2: Failed to fully write [/usr/local/games/ut2004/Textures/DS-textures.utx]!
./setup.sh: line 148: 10999 Aborted "$setup" "$@"


then the installer closes...

any ideas?

Did you use the installer located on the Retail disk? It is on the first CD, or on the DVD somewhere. I just copied the installer to my desktop and ran it from there. I used the files from here to update the version to 3369.2...........http://www.liflg.org/?catid=6&gameid=17.............UZ2 is the compressed files located on the disk so they may be just having issues "Uncompressing". Try a different installer. I hope this helps.

yeah i'm trying to use the retail installer... might try and copy the file to the desktop like u said...

didn't think you could install from anything else?

I had to copy the installer script into my root folder to get it to work.

just tried copying to the desktop... didn't work

it always stops on that 1 file... could it be a problem with my dvd?
