is there any way to get these icons to work?

hi, i found some icons i want to use. i downloaded and install them but they don't work :( is there anything i can do to get them working?

the ones i tried are called - Crystal Clear. i'd like to use Paper Icons and iMac Generations too. i hope it's possible i really like them.

edit maybe not those second two sets because it says there's only 3 and 4 icons in them, i think that's what they mean. i like the Crystal SVG Icons though.

sorry, not in my ubuntu box right now, so i can't test it... but did you go to themes and installed a new theme... then go to theme details... and chose from the icon tab the set you just installed... that should work... if the package is corrupt, the installer should say so...

I guess those icon themes were developed to work with KDE. To get the GNOME version, please consider looking at gnome-look.org:

hi, meborc and LaSSarD thanks for the help. i think i need to get into the habit of being careful what i download, i've heard of things breaking Ubuntu.

i'm going to delete the icons i downloaded and download the ones from gnome-look.

I've probably downloaded, hacked, and made more themes in gnome than anyone and I can tell you not to be concerned about breaking anything when concerning eyecandy.
