eeepc 1000h & Ubuntu 9.04 no ethernet

Hi,
I just got a eeepc 1000h, I installed jaunty. Everything is ok. But the ethernet does not work. (wifi works perectly).
What can I do?

I presume you have messed in network manager to try and manually get a wired connection?

Or is it just not autodetecting/connecting?

I have the exact same problem but on a Dell Inspiron 6000. The wired connection was working then I ran today's updates (April 1s 2009 for Jaunty) and after I restarted my computer it could no longer detect the wired connection. My usb modem works fine (wireless won't work until there's a fix for the broken Broadcom driver...).

I made a clean install so I could not mess anything, even from the live is not working.
Even manually it always says "not connected"
