How do I post a thread in Ubuntu Forum!!!

Howdey Yall..

I'm brand spanking NOOB.

And I desperately, I mean desperately. Need an answer (A.S.A.P) to this big problem I cannot seem to fathem for the life of me.

It has been baffling me for days!!!

How on earth does one post a thread in this here Ubuntu Forum??

I am not at all surprised you asked this question. But I see you somehow figured it out to post 'this' Question.
I had the same trouble myself in the beginning, and took hours and days, and sometimes I was steaming mad and pissed off at the web interface for making it hard for the average mind. (Part of the reason why this page is designed the way it is because, most people just want ONLY to ask questions and NOT answer any, which is bad. This is an Open source community, we must share as well as contribute.)

Anyways, here is your answer.

To start a thread, you first need to know where to post your question to.
Meaning,.. you cant just post a thread unless you know where to post it, you have to choose the category it should be posted to.
So when you visit www.ubuntuforums.org, on the home page you can see the 'Main Support Categories'. Select the category in which you want to post your question to. Usually most 'noob' and general questions are posted to 'General Help', if you need installation help, select 'Installation and Upgrades'., (now I would also recommend that you try and read some questions and answers posted here during your free time to learn many tips and tricks.)
Once you have decided your category, click on it.
Rightaway, in the page that comes up, you can see a 'New Thread' button in 'grey color' on the top left hand side corner. Click on it.
(if you still can't see it, either your browser has a problem blocking certain stuff that appears on pages or you need a new pair of glasses and lots of patience. But trust me, its there. Just as you select the category, you must see it)

You will get a dialogue upon clicking on it, where you can post, the title and question. (p.s, don't forget also to give a prefix to your subject, e.g. ubuntu, xubuntu,.. etc, or else your question won't post)
And you are done.

Also, DO not forget to Answer some questions posted here. It is the right thing to do.
(Answer atleast two questions to every one question you ask.)
