With fresh install of 8.10 i get wine ver 1.1.0
I download Steam and install it
then i install COD4
evenbalance has the PB update
but DX9 wont install
evidently i need a 3dmark patch
and DX9. these two are a little tricky

Ok well i can get the game to run finally both single and multiplayer.
Unfortunantly i get seriously low fps around 15 to 20
In multiplayer i keep getting kicked by PB for multiple reasons.
Either way ive finally managed to get it to run so im happy:P
Too bad i have to keep using vista for the game:(

Why don't we use Proper English for a change...That way everyone will be able to understand it and you'll look far more intelligent.
As for COD4, You'd be best off reading this and following the instructions as well as reading through the comments to find any tips others have posted. I got COD4 working with about the same FPS as with vista (50 average) so it should work pretty well.

I understood all he had to say enough to get the game running.
I didnt think id be able to. !!!:)THX THRASH :)!!! I really appreciate the help.
Why do ya wanna diss a guy like that? Im not doing it again. I ran it
and i just wanted to see if i could pull it off. Im and admin and i need to monitor the server.
Also i access our servers control panel. These are MUCH easier with vista than Ubu.It was all just a test for myself.
The MORE i can do with linux the more i love it.
You ONLY get 50 fps on windows thats weak. I uncapped my fps and get over 200
Try.. /cg_drawFPS 1
then.. /com_maxFPS 0
