I started off with unix six years back on VI. During this long break I didnt use VI.

Now I want to return back to VI. Can somebody point out real good reference guides for VI, as well as quick summary guides.

I mainly want to use it for prorgramming. Could somebody also point out bash shortcuts as I have found using console much more useful.

Thanks. That pocket guide really helped me out.

This is more of a tutorial, but I hope it will still be useful:
vimtutor

If you don't have this, you can get it with:
sudo apt-get install vim-runtime

Although if you have GVim installed, it should work without that.

Resurrection is an activity that doesn't always sit well within the forum CoC. May this old thread rest in pieces peace.
