i couldn't get compiz fusion to work in 9.04. i got the message that the necessary drivers couldn't be found.
I tried to re-install nvidia drivers but i can't get it back and now everything is all big lo res. :(
what's odd is that it's hi-res when it first loads [with the ubuntu screen with the orange bar going across] then it goes to the lo res.
at somepoint i think i also used the janitor function :$
"no proprietary drivers are in use on this system"
But i do have the nvidia x server settings thing. i have conflicts in add/remove
my system:
amd sempron 64 bit 3200+ cpu
nvidia GeForce 6100 graphics
ram 2.2 gb
kernal 2.6.28-11-generic
gnome 2.26.0
btw: i downloaded the right driver from nvidia's website and it still didn't work. :(
