I just upgraded to the 9.04 beta and to my surprise compiz now works flawlessly. before it was very choppy scrolling in firefox and now it is faster than it was with visual effects turned off. Does 9.04 include that latest ATI Catayist driver or is it and improvement to the X-org? Either way im a happy camper.

I'd be very surprised if they'd included the ATI proprietory driver, looks to me like they've finally ironed out all the bugs - mine works well straight out of the box too. Yay!

Mine didn't go so well. I am still with a scrambled red blue screen. Good thing it was a test laptop. Thats why im not too worried about figuring out what is going on. Release is right around the corner.

It works... sort of...
Whenever I change theme, my panels become useless, so I have been doing a lot of "sudo reboot" ](*,)
Not sure it's related to the ATI catalyst driver, but I didn't have the same problems with the RadeonHD driver.

So I keep Jaunty on a separate disk and use Ibex as my main os and look forward to the main release 8-[

Some graphics issues here, too.

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600: no 3D, no desktop effects, only plain super VGA output.

Intrepid Ibex still does the job gracefully.
