Hi All,
Okay, so here's the skinny. I had downloaded Songbird 1.0. I like it. It is set up nicely. I am now wanting to upgrade to 1.1.1, but..... I tried one way, and got some sort of error I believe with the repositories. So, i just downloaded it straight from their site as a tar.gz. Cool right. So I got it, it went to my desktop(my default storage for downloads), I extracted it, now I have a folder. What do I do now? I have a folder called .songbird2 in my home folder as a hidden folder.

Or...... do I have to uninstall, and start over????

Thanks

Download the .deb package from http://www.getdeb.net/app/Songbird. You can then just double click to install it.

Best advice and point to all week. Thank you very much, this worked like a charm. Much obliged.

Glad it helped, but remember that the purge command might do wonders to clean up messy installs. You should always try to make sure an app is cleanly removed before resorting to a deb install.
