Sound not working

I moved to a new system and rebuilt the platform from scratch. Running 2.6.24-23-server and have alsa and pulseaudio installed. Output from the alsa-error.sh text can be seen here: http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=4525ab413424c5e13ba5ff348f06339ce7676927

Have tried all the different alsa and other sound forums and cannot find anything wrong (have tried to rebuild, reinstall and otherwise tried everything suggested).

Any ideas? :confused:

After trying for about 4 hours, unsuccessfully, found reference to this being a bug in ubuntu 8.10 current release (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/297744). Assume it is in 8.04 and so I finally just installed an old soundblaster card and got it working that way.

If I ever fix it (I also found reference that the VIA82xx will be part of the 26 kernel release), I will update this thread.
