In honor of Ziggy Marley (http://www.melodymakers.com/music/songs/songs.cgi?haveyouever), another poll...
Personal experience only.
What is dll hell? (http://www.ssw.com.au/SSW/Database/DLLHell.aspx)
What is dependency hell? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dependency_hell)

Once, the devil invited me over for tea time. Not very nice fellow :/
But on the DLL/Dependency, sort of. I had DLL hell on a torrented special version of winamp. Didnt really matter since foobar2000 is better. And on linux I had dependancy semi-hell on fedora core.

LOL, I guess that means I've lived most of my life in hell.

I have never got dll hell, but I sure got dependency hell with SUSE 10.0... trying to install KDE 3.5 from packman and it wanted a package which didn't even exist!!

dependancy hell here - but that's to be expected when testing development releases (ie, dapper), and living on the bleeding edge...

I spent a bit of time in dependancy purgatory when I first started using Linux (redhat 10), when I spent days trying to get gtk+ &c installed in order to compile the latest version of Gaim.
