I started having tons of problems with my array, like 4 of 6 drives labeled as removed, and I think I may have fried my southbridge.

I had 6 drives practically touching each other in the 3.5" slots, right next to the southbridge and probably preventing the front fan from producing air current over the heatsink of the southbridge. Not to mention the drives get really hot themselves.

I've never run a server before and don't know about controlling temperature, how to monitor it, what I should be aiming for, or anything like that.

I just got a new motherboard and this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817332011) enclosure for my HDs. Is there other stuff I should be looking at? This is just a home server, and I'd like it to run without incident. Is this sufficient? How do I monitor the temperature of the CPU, southbridge, HDs, etc? How hot should they run at?

Thanks in advance.
