i can't seem to get any sound when playing back mkv files? is there something i need to download?

how do you turn off subtitles?

is having UPnP enabled a big security risk on my router?

I have no answer to your first question, as that's what I was looking for when I stumbled upon this post. To answer your second question, try renaming the subtitle file, depending on your media player the player will automatically play a sub or srt file with the same name as the video file. UPnP can be a big security risk on your router if you run WEP encryption or have a poor WPA password. Anyone who gains access to your LAN (which could take about 8 minutes to crack) can view and possible download all of your UPnP files.
