anyone know of a plugin to allow you to use audacious's playlist/hotkeys to launch mplayer for playing videos?
i could do it on xmms, and i found a few outdated threads about doing it with audacious but i cant find any plugins that actually do it

I was able to find no definitive answer I am afraid but there is a hint in an old Gutsy repository:
This package contains some unsupported plugins for Audacious:
* Mplayer controls (use mplayer as input backend)
* Cube (ADX and other formats support)
* Libnotify support
* IRIS 3D vizualisation
Perhaps this might furnish a start for you?

guess what, all this time later i still want a nice frontend for mplayer
with a searchable playlist, common hotkeys for audio and video
i used to use xmms with the xmms-mplayer plugin but xmms has been removed even though it still ruled and seemed to have no issues...
audacious is very xmms like so i was hoping it would have an addon, i found a half finished one in the past, but i cant even find it anymore
is there any other frontend i can use with mplayer with a searchable playlist?
