I am having problems running Call of Duty 4 on wine, it did work on my system but I can't remember what wine release I used. The game installs fine but than I receive a C++ run time error when I start the game up. I am currently using wine 1.1.17.

Any ideas?

Yes I have direct rendering and other 3D games work via wine, here is my Xorg:

The AllowSHMPixmaps is not the problem, I tried removing it and its there for compatibility reasons.

offscreenrendering = fbo

I'll try to disable that, but I don't see how that could cause an error. CoD4 is not updated though, its a older version like 1.0 or 1.1 so I am downloading the update now.

Nice, some where between the 1.7 update and your settings fixed my problem. Runs as smooth as windows, I love wine and Linux in general.
