I have two pc's both with wireless connections to my dsl modem/router. My router allows me to specify which mac addresses are allowed to access my connection, which I've done. Do I need WPA or any other kind of security.

I'm not overly concerned about people using my bandwidth as I have 200gb a month and rarely go above one third of that, but I'm more concerned about someone trying to access my machine and it's data.

Any help would be appreciated.

It wont hurt. There are plenty of wifi security cracking software out there, and most of them can get around mac filtering with no problem so I would go ahead and secure with WPA and pick a nice long password. Mix it up for example: D3@nJM1963 but longer.

Thanks for the info ... I'll give it a go.
