Hi...

I'm pretty much set on ordering the Pangolin Performance laptop this week (yay Income Tax Return), but I'd like to know if it's possible to boot from an external HD on the eSata port? I'd like to install Windows and FreeBSD on a separate hard drive if possible as to leave the entire internal HD for Linux.

Also while posting, does the internal video card in this model work with Compiz rather well? I'd love to have this enabled on the laptop to show it off.

Thanks --

Sam

Here is a very good tutorial by one of our customers for installing Windows on an external eSATA drive.

Compiz works well on the Pangolin.

I can confirm that compiz runs without trouble. It was one of the first things that I installed.

Compiz is amazing, even if it's all show. I've even convinced one person to give Linux a try based on the desktop cube alone.

It's definitely flashy, but I hesitate to call it all show. The cube is actually a pretty neat productivity feature (different project on each side of the cube, etc...).

I realize you can do multiple desktops without compiz, but there's something positive to be said about the relationship between productivity and loving your set-up.
